Janet Selover, President and Founder

Janet founded PBMS in 1987. Before starting the business, Janet managed two orthopedic practices. Her father is a dentist, so growing up in the “professional” environment, gave her a slightly different take on how a billing and management company should be organized and managed. Her unique perspective is the driver behind how PBMS functions.
Janet’s philosophy has always been customer-focused. She believes that every provider deserves to be paid fully and promptly for the work they do. Janet is forward thinking and always looking for ways to improve the results for our providers and get them their money faster — whether it’s through technology, provider education or internal processes.

Janet is very active in the billing world and is currently serving on two boards through the HBMA (Healthcare Billing & Management Association). Focusing on areas where providers may have needs, such as coding, education and Accounts Receivable, Janet has become a leader in the industry.

William (Barry) Selover, Vice President

Barry joined the PBMS team in 2012 after retiring from two successful careers. One was in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 21 years as a master sergeant leading a large team. The other was with UPS, where he retired after 15 years. Barry brings his leadership skills and experience to the team of managers as well as the entire billing team. He also creates our internal monthly reports for the company KPIs and watches for trends and changes that may affect provider outcomes.

Matthew Potterton, Chief Executive Officer

Matthew has spent over 30 years in academia.  Most recently, he was the Department of Music Chair and Director of Choral Activities at East Tennessee State University.  Dr. Potterton has earned international acclaim for his choral ensembles most recently earning the Grand Prix award in Bratislava, Slovakia.  As Chair, he increased enrollment in the music department by 50% in just five years.  In his role as Director and Chair, Matthew has spent a career in charge of finances ensuring the department stays within budget while increasing enrollement.

Matthew is excited to join the PBMS family as CEO.  Matthew brings his years of leadership and financial insight as well as certifications in billing and coding (CPB and CPC).  His focus is providing the best customer service for our providers while creating and efficient and productive work environment.

Desmond Meridian, Chief Operating Officer

Desmond has extensive background with payors, systems, software and contracting as well as management. Coming from the payor side of things, he brings an important perspective to our management staff. As COO, Desmond facilitates the implementation of new systems and processes. PBMS makes it a priority to be on the cutting edge of new technology and management skills, and Desmond plays a key role in making that happen.

Stefanee Pace, Coding Division Director

Stefanee has more than 20 years of multi-specialty coding and auditing experience, including physician education. She has helped PBMS become the industry leader in coding and physician education. She works closely with our providers on any issues related to their coding questions. Stefanee helps them stay compliant and knowledgeable about coding issues and changes within their specialty. She also manages coding audits for clients.

Kathy Husted, HR and Compliance Director

Kathy has more than 30 years of experience in the medical field and is a Certified Professional Coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders and has taught the CPC course here at PBMS in the past.  Her organizational skills allow her to efficiently move between multiple important tasks each day. Kathy focuses on building and maintaining great relationships with our staff as well as keeping our company compliant. With her diligence, PBMS has continued to be certified compliant through the Healthcare Business Management Association.

Sheryl Cole, Marketing Manager

Sheryl has four decades of experience in sales, client service and marketing related to medical billing as well as other industries. In her role at PBMS, she’s often out in the field. She focuses on building personal connections based on regular contact and face-to-face meetings. Sheryl knows those connections create trust and confidence, and lead to more efficient communication.

Gaylene Curtis, Implementation Department Manager

Gaylene has worked for PBMS since 2000, taking a couple years off to be a mom. She has over 30 years’ experience in the medical field. Gaylene is the Implementation & Support manager. Gaylene works very closely with all staff, providers as well as software vendors keeping our systems running smoothly. She is responsible for the initial system set-up for all new providers. Her department is intimately involved in providing technical and administrative support of the office staff and all our clients on any non-billing functions. Along with the help of her support team, she troubleshoots and supports all billing systems and software issues. Provider Enrollment is under Gaylene, she manages the needs of all of our clients regarding payer enrollments.
